Abstract

The article deals with the comprehensive comparative study of one of the categories of statements that function in the scientific register of communication - non-categorical affirmative statements. The use of non-categorical statements in an English text is regulated to a certain extent by a stricter standard of written communication; in a Russian-language text, the use of non-categorical statements is not regulated by the norm and depends on the motives and strategies of the authors of the texts. The subject area of this study investigates the linguistic texts in English and Russian languages.
